Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) evolved from the “Day of Unity” held October 1981 and conceived by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The intent was to connect advocates across the nations who are working to end violence against woman and their children. The “Day of Unity” soon became an entire month devoted to a range of activities conducted at the local, state, and national level.

Congratulations on such a successful event yesterday! It was a pleasure to meet you and be a part of the day. The individual messages from many of the speakers were both powerful and moving. I personally appreciated the pro-law enforcement sentiment throughout the room.
